The Anthem of Wild and Free

"The world may tell us we're too much and never enough. But we can walk wildly in who God created us to be and rest freely in the work Jesus did for us.  We do not have to be confined or conformed by cultural expectations. We are unchained from our past and unafraid of our future. We choose compassion over comparison. We love without condition, without reserve. Our eyes are on God; we hold nothing back; we run fast and strong; we do not hide our light. We aren't wild and free for our sake alone; rather we sing life, hope, and truth over the world with abandon-just as our God sings over us.  We are wild and free. And we are poised to do mighty things, in Christ alone."

You know those books you pick up and can't put down? This is one of those books but to the extreme, it came with me everywhere I went until it was done. It was as if Jess + Hayley wrote the book with only ME in mind. I was constantly saying to myself "me too, me too."

The words in Wild & Free spoke to my heart in so many ways.  It is both encouraging and challenging to live a life that is wild and aligned with Christ. It gives women the gift of freely finding themselves in the Lord, without the pressure of how the world thinks we should be.  Since we are free in Christ, we can rest in the fact that He is continually growing us and always after our hearts.  I loved how Jess + Hayley touched on the many things that women struggle with... worry, fear, insecurity.. All these things we have carried with us from our childhood that have creeped up into adulthood. This book felt like the key to unlocking those strongholds and bringing us to a place of freedom, where Christ wants us to be.

I love the closing of this book, the final encouragement to walk towards wild freedom, away from bondage, and closer to Christ. As we step away from the strongholds, the insecurities, the doubts, the fears, the failures... We are stepping closer to the place that is golden in good.  "It is close to glory, because it is close to the heart of God. Freedom is beautiful, and it's a foretaste of heaven."

Thank you, Jess + Hayley for this gift.
