{ Acai Energy Bowl | Recipe }

Breakfast is my favorite meal because I love making a great big smoothie filled with fruits, veggies, and other delicious super-foods. I usually drink my smoothies, but lately I have been making a smoothie bowl which is thicker than a regular smoothie, so you can serve it in a bowl and use a spoon to eat it!  Are you on the Acai Bowl bandwagon yet??  You're missing out if you haven't picked up on this easy breakfast trend! 

I love this recipe because it is so refreshing and I feel like I should be sitting on the beach while i drink it!  Acai Energy bowls have become so popular lately, and as amazing as they are, it is a pricy meal!  After many frequent purchases, I realized how easy it would be for me to create this amazingness at home!  Not only was it more cost efficient to make at home, it was much healthier.  They are also extremely customizable and versatile and taste amazing with all sorts of ingredients! Have fun with it!  
 

BERRY ACAI SMOOTHIE BOWL:


Smoothie Ingredients: 

  • 2/3c Frozen Blueberries
  • 2/3c Frozen Strawberries
  • 1/2 Banana
  • 3/4-1c Almond Milk { or milk of choice }
  • 1tsp Acai Powder { I ordered mine here }

Toppings:

  • Fresh Blueberries
  • Goji Berries
  • Chia Seeds
  • Fresh Kiwi

Directions: 

  1.  Put all smoothie ingredients into a blender.
  2. If the mixture has trouble blending, add more almond milk or water
  3. Blend until the smoothie is smooth
  4. Pour the smoothie mixture into a bowl
  5. Top with desired ingredients
  6. Serve + Enjoy! 

*Feel free to make this recipe or your own and add your toppings of choice and switch out some ingredients for others.  Make your own versions and see which you like the best!  Enjoy!
